Rumpel Construction

Rumpel Construction is owned and operated by Brad Rumpel. Brad has been in the construction business for over 15 years. He got his start in construction doing renovation work on residential houses and then started his own business building spec homes. Over the past few years he has expanded the business into building several homes per year and working on larger projects involving framing multi-unit buildings and commercial tenant improvements.

The Owner

Brad completed the Carpentry Apprenticeship Program at Camosun College in 2004. That same year Brad competed in the BC Skills Competition and won the gold medal for Carpentry. He then went on to compete in the Canadian Skills Competition and won the bronze medal for Carpentry. After competing, Brad was awarded the Trades Competitor’s Award from Camosun College for outstanding performance and excellent achievement in provincial and national competitions.

Brad was recognized with several awards from Camosun College while completing the apprenticeship program there. He finished with the top mark of the class throughout all four years of the apprenticeship training and received the Carpentry Apprenticeship Award for graduating with the highest overall combined theory and practical marks. He was awarded the Society of Vocational Instructors’ Award, for achieving high academic standards and contributing to the college and community, and the John Drysdale Memorial Award, for being the top all-round trades student in the School of Trades and Technology in achievement in course work, attitude and relationship to fellow students and instructors, as well as contribution to the college and community.

Brad was highlighted as Best Carpentry Apprentice in BC in the tenth anniversary edition of Victoria’s Best of the City publication. His accomplishments were then featured in the Business Council of British Columbia’s The Third Option - Faces of Success companion booklet, which represented a unique collection of successful young British Columbians in a wide variety of occupations from across the province.

Brad has been a member of the Camosun College Carpentry Program Advisory Committee since 2006. The committee members help to provide input into the Carpentry Apprenticeship Program.
