Prairie Cedar was founded by a builder who understood the unique properties of cedar and its suitability for use in a demanding Southern Alberta climate. Established with the intent of making western red cedar readily available in Alberta, Prairie Cedar has become Southern Alberta’s largest supplier of cedar lumber and cedar building supplies.

We take great pride in the quality and selection of our cedar building materials and invite you to experience our unique showroom, which demonstrates a variety of cedar building materials in a practical context. Our staff is trained and WRCLA certified, and our inventory is well-rounded with a comprehensive selection of all major patterns, grades and sizes of cedar building materials. Posts, beams and timbers; boards and dimensional lumber; fencing materials; decking materials; pattern stock and siding profiles – all are standard items in our stock.
