Ok Excavating

Ok Excavating was founded in 1967 by Al Horak as a one-man operation with a rototiller and pick-up truck. The office work was done by his wife Pam at the kitchen table. With hard work and long hours the business grew to a backhoe, tractor and single axle truck, then to a skidsteer and two tandem gravel trucks. With each new piece of equipment a new employee was hired. The company was incorporated in 1978 as Green Leaf Enterprises Ltd.

Our equipment includes - six sizes of Excavators; Trucks - Rock Trucks, Gravel Trucks with pup trailers, Tractor with lowbed and belly dump; Loaders from one to six yard capacity; Packers; Screen Plants; Dozer and Grader. All this equipment has enabled us to undertake projects such as roadways, sports fields, parks, subdivision site work, sewer and water projects, and commercial site work.

Today staff has certifications for Gold Seal, Confined Spaces, WHIMIS and First Aid. The day-to-day operations are now being run by son Todd Horak who has worked at all levels of construction and brings a fresh outlook to the job.
